Common questions

The app crashed or froze. Tell us your device model and iOS version, and what you were doing right before it happened — that's the fastest way for us to track it down.
I want my data deleted. Email us your in-app player name and we'll remove your scores, progress, and display name from our database. See Data Retention and Deletion below.
My leaderboard name is taken. Display names are first-come, first-served and unique across all players — try a variation.
I want to change the app language. Tap the language icon on the home screen, or find it under Settings. Chroma Clash currently supports 12 languages.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Chroma Clash ("the App," "we," "us") collects when you play, and how that information is used. Chroma Clash is a mobile game developed by an independent developer. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

Chroma Clash does not require you to create an account, and does not ask for your real name, email address, or phone number. The App does collect a limited set of information needed to make gameplay, progress-saving, and leaderboards work:

Anonymous player ID. On first launch, the App generates a random identifier for your device (via Firebase Anonymous Authentication) and stores it locally. This ID is not tied to your real-world identity.
Display name (optional). If you choose to set a player name — for example, to appear on the leaderboard — that name is stored and linked to your anonymous player ID. You may change it at any time in Settings.
Gameplay and progress data. This includes your scores, personal bests, experience points (XP), level, unlocked tile styles and sound chimes, quest/challenge progress, and daily-streak data. This is stored so your progress can sync across the devices you play on.
Language preference. The display language you select in the App.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or any device sensor data, and the App does not request those permissions.

How We Use This Information

We use the information described above only to operate and improve the App's core features:

Saving and restoring your progress (XP, level, unlocked styles, streaks) when you reinstall the App or switch devices
Displaying scores and ranks on the global and daily leaderboards
Enforcing unique player names, so two players can't claim the same display name
Showing the App in your selected language

We do not use your information for advertising, do not build behavioral profiles, and do not sell or rent your information to third parties.

Data Storage and Third Parties

Your information is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), a third-party cloud service. Firebase's own handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. As with any networked app, your device's IP address is visible to Firebase's servers as a normal part of this connection.

The App does not include any advertising SDKs, third-party analytics/tracking SDKs, or social media integrations. No data is shared with advertisers.

Children's Privacy

Chroma Clash does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App does not collect real names, email addresses, or other directly identifying information — only an anonymous device ID and an optional, self-chosen display name — we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with a display name or other information that identifies them personally, please contact us using the information above and we will remove it.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your progress and score data is retained for as long as you use the App, so that it remains available to you across sessions and devices. If you'd like your data deleted — including your display name, scores, and progress — contact us at the email above with your in-app player name, and we will remove the associated records from our database.

Security

We use Firebase's standard security infrastructure, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) between the App and our database, to protect your information in transit. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the limited, non-sensitive nature of the data we collect.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as the App adds new features. We'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
